 FASHION THROUGH THE LENS OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER"

THE PORT Washington Public Library of New York has brought together some of fashion photography’s most iconic and recognized artists of the 20th and 21st century in a new immersive gallery presentation, entitled The Reflected Eye: Fashion through the Lens of the Photographer. Part exhibit and part documentary, The Reflected Eye spotlights some of fashion’s most illustrious photographers covering more than 100 years of photography history, including Erwin Blumenfeld, Richard Avedon, Melvin Sokolsky, Neal Barr, William Helburn, Alexi Lubomirski, Rames Xelhuantzi, Chen Man and many more. 

The exhibit includes in-depth documentary-style video directed and produced by Mexico-based photographer Rames Xelhuantzi and journalist Lucy Lara, Former Editor-in Chief of Harper´s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire and Glamour Latin America. The artists will reveal the stories behind their photographs in their own words. The Reflected Eye turns our attention to the mystery on the other side of the lens, the photographer.
